July – The Festival d’Avignon

It’s the biggest theater and live performance event in France, and one of the biggest in the world in terms of the number of creations and spectators it attracts. The IN festival takes place in 12 of Avignon’s legendary venues, including the Cour d’Honneur of the Popes’ Palace, while the OFF festival this year features no fewer than 1,480 pieces of dance, song, street theater and more…

August- The Ban des vendanges des Côtes du Rhône

For one day, the City of the Popes lives a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages. It’s a popular wine festival celebrating the start of the harvest in Avignon, the capital of the Côtes du Rhône. A day of conviviality and sharing in a festive, winegrowing atmosphere!

From June to July – Les Chorégies d’Orange Les Chorégies d’Orange takes place in the majestic setting of the Théâtre Antique d’Orange. This oldest and most popular of French opera festivals continues to be an essential venue for lyrical art, bringing together the most illustrious singers in the world.  August – The Féria of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence This is Saint Rémy de Provence’s big summer festival, featuring all facets of the Provençal Bouvine, which excludes any killing. It’s the occasion for a parade in traditional costume, but above all it’s a succession of bull runs, bull releases in the streets, bull shows and Camargue races.

From March to January – The Carrières de Lumières of les Baux-de-Provence A must-see in Provence, the Carrières des Lumières are located at the foot of the town of Les Baux-de-Provence, in the heart of the Alpilles, in a place steeped in mystery: the Val d’Enfer. Since 2012, the Carrières des Lumières have been presenting digital, immersive and contemporary exhibitions. Young and old alike come to enjoy a unique experience, explore limitless works and universes, and let themselves be carried to the heart of Art.  From July to September – The rencontres d’Arles This festival is to photography what Cannes is to cinema. Every summer since 1970, the Rencontres d’Arles has been helping to pass on the world’s photographic heritage through more than forty exhibitions in a variety of the city’s outstanding heritage sites, and has become a melting pot for contemporary creation.  August – Arelate, Roman days in Arles Every year, under the radiant August sun, the Romans take up their summer quarters in the “Little Rome of the Gauls”, where the cadenced steps of the legionnaires, the sword thrusts of the gladiators and the applause of the jubilant spectators resound. Find yourself almost two thousand years back in time !  September – Rice Feria (gourmet Camargue ) and horse festival in Arles For three days, the city of Arles is alive with three events celebrating bullfighting culture, Arles gastronomy and the horse, the true emblems of the Camargue.

July – Aix-en-Provence International Festival of Lyric Art The Festival d’Aix-en-Provence is an opera and classical music festival founded in 1948 and held every summer in Aix-en-Provence. It is one of Europe’s leading opera festivals, with a particular affinity for Mozart’s operas. In this unique setting so dear to the Marquis de Sade, I invite you to join us for one of this summer’s major events.” Pierre Cardin  July to August – International Piano Festival at La Roque-d’Anthéron For more than three decades, the Festival de La Roque d’Anthéron has been the home of all those who, through the piano, dare to express their originality and personality. Wise, insolent and prodigious, poets of all ages are reborn each year under the century-old plane trees of Florans and the celestial vault of Provencal evenings.
