The History

Just a stone’s throw from Avignon, Le Prieuré, recently acquired by Geneviève and Jean-André Charial, reopened its doors in 2007, after 6 months of extensive renovations.

With its priest’s garden bordered by wisteria-draped trellises, this Relais & Chateaux hotel, built in the 14th century, has a rare charm. Today, the hotel offers 39 rooms and suites with a combination of modernity and old stones.

The owners of Baumanière, Jean-André and Geneviève Charial, bought this hotel in 2007 and wished to find the spirit of Baumanière again; Elegance, serenity, respect of the environment and people.

Le Prieuré is an old and historical establishment where the passion of a team trained at Baumanière, perpetuates a philosophy, an authentical art of living.
